PRE DESIGNED READY TO BUILD ENERGY EFFICIENT HOMES

Tidewater

Kinship to the Tidewater can be found all along Virginia’s Eastern shore and North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Its symmetry, simplicity, horizontal siding, large windows, dormers and metal roofed gable have long been found on lighthouses in the Chesapeake Bay.

The Tidewater is a two story design with the second story left unfinished. Options for the finished second story may include a master bedroom with sitting area, a storage room, along with a large bathroom.

The first floor is based on a central hall plan, with the gathering room, kitchen and dining area to one side. On the opposite side you find the master bedroom along with a second bedroom, and a laundry room tucked away under the stair.

Edinburgh

The Edinburgh, like all of the Next Generation Homes, was designed to project a reflective period when society’s pace was slower. Borrowing its styling from cottages on the English Moor, the Edinburgh ties country charm with high-tech urbanism.

This unique one-story cottage is rich in character and detail. Headers, shutters, soffit, and a water table band made of cypress, as well as a stone foundation, chimney and fireplace along with distressed trusses that are exposed to view, present a sense of old world cottage charm.

The interior is an open plan where the foyer opens onto the gathering room, dining area and kitchen. Off of the kitchen are the mudroom, pantry and garage. The floor plan also consists of a master bedroom suite, a Laundry room, two additional bedrooms and a shared bathroom. An exterior sitting area off of the kitchen with a shading pergola makes this cozy cottage-home ideal for all seasons.

3-Bay

Driven by nostalgia on the exterior and technology on the interior, this three-bay Williamsburg home has been designed to reflect on traditional and contemporary ideals .

An open first floor plan links the gathering room, kitchen, dining area and foyer. A Master bedroom Suite is also conveniently located on the first floor along with the laundry and powder room.

The second floor is comprised of two bedrooms of equal size with a shared bath between them. Dormers and a lit stairwell allow natural light into the upper floor.

Craftsman

Around 1908 Gustuv Stickley wrote that the new Craftsman idea was to replace American society’s “restless and feverish ambition” with “wholesome country life.”

With our Craftsman series, we have managed to achieve this in a home that projects a bungalow exterior with an open interior plan.

The house is adorned with shed dormers, shingle siding, a representative tie beam, exposed rafters at the dormers and bracketed columns to create the Craftsman/Bungalow feel. The interior is energy efficient at its best with an open plan that combines the gathering and dining room and provides a visual connection with the foyer and kitchen.  Also, on the first floor are the master bedroom suite, powder room and laundry.

The second floor allows for two additional bedrooms, an open stair and a bathroom that is shared by the two bedrooms.

Board and Batten

The Board and Batten design is rooted in English architecture that spans as far back as the early 16oo’s. This form of siding was not prevalent again until the introduction of the Gothic Revival period between 1840 and 1860 when an emphasis on the vertical form became popular again.

Our Board and Batten design borrows elements from the english cottage and the Gothic Revival period. The design utilizes casement windows, an asymmetrical plan, a minor degree of exposed timber framing, a hooded bay window and a stylized arched entry.

The interior of the first floor is an open plan with the dining and gathering room being combined and open to the kitchen. The foyer is wide with a stair to the second floor and columns show the way to the lower level living area. The Master bedroom suite is also on the first floor as is a large pantry and powder room.

The second floor contains two bedrooms, with a Jack and Jill bath, a laundry room and an open upper stair.
